Yesterday:
* left work @ 1715
* walked to Kenmore
* T to North Station
* sat around for ~ 30 minutes

Today:
* left work @ 1700
* walked to North Station
* stood around for ~ 10 minutes

Yet it all amounts to the same thing, since I'm on the exact same outboud train, and I still won't get home until around 1930. I really wish this were an express...

It's always a mistake to leave work later than 1630. I think the T loses its functioning powers somewhere between 1630 and 1700, and then nothing works. Or, if it does work, it's slowed to a snail's pace, and you might as well walk to wherever it is you're going.

The bright side to sticking around, I guess, is that I'm going to feel less guilty ( Read more... )

The cover of today's Metro is pretty grim for those of us who use public transportation in the greater Boston area. The T has a $160 million budget deficit, and the proposed remedy is service cuts. Brilliant--because if people can't take the T, the MBTA will certainly earn back that deficit. Oh, yeah. That'll work.
